Local Church Hosts Thanksgiving Dinner for Area Homeless on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011 at 11:00 am

On Thanksgiving Day, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, Harvest Life Changers Church is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner with all of the trimmings. This very special dinner, at no cost, is for the community including homeless men, women and children in the area that otherwise would not have the food, fellowship or family atmosphere.

"It is such a blessing to provide some love, care and a hot meal to those in need – especially in this challenging economy," stated Bishop Lyle Dukes, Senior Pastor.

The church, which provides food, clothing and assistance programs year around, decided to reach out to the community in a more personal manner this year. This special dinner is open to anyone who would like to come.

"Many people are facing financial hardship these days." said Pastor Deborah Dukes. "The face of homelessness has changed. Because of foreclosures and job losses, many are in a posit women's coats ion today that they never thought they would be in. This is our opportunity to let them know that they are not alone."

Thanksgiving dinners will be served on a first-come first-served basis, and will be available while supplies last. This free dinner is made possible through the donations of the church membership.

The Harvest Life Changers Church is located at 14401 Telegraph Road in Woodbridge, VA. For more information, please contact the church at (703) 490-4040 or visit http://www.lyleanddeborahdukes.com.
