NPD Group Reports Size Matters to American Women

The NPD Group, Inc., a leading market research company, released results of the Women Special Sizes report. The study shows two-thirds of females, within a nationally representative sample of females age 13+, self-classify themselves as wearing clothing that is considered "special sized." One- women's coats third of these females self-classify themselves as plus size women, the highest represented size group among special size women.

"Despite the fact there has been an increase in plus size offerings through some traditionally 'regular sized' brands, the demand for designer brands and styles in larger sizes in still in full swing, "said Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst, The NPD Group, Inc. "Women of all ages and shapes want to enjoy the latest fashions of the season and are willing to spend the money in order to feel comfortable and confident."

"Plus size women think differently than regular sized women about clothing and their attitudes reflect that difference," stated Cohen. "In order to be successful in this category, retailers and brands need to create a comfortable shopping environment tailored to a variety of shapes and sizes."

Even though full-size women prefer to buy a brand that specializes in plus size clothing, the majority desire a wardrobe similar to that of their smaller sized friends with the same level of quality.

"The issues that plus size women face in store translate into the biggest opportunity for brands and retailers to grow their businesses today," stated Cohen. "There are so many consumers who wear at least one item that is plus size, and yet the market is dramatically underserved."

Methodology: Women who indicated wearing a special size (i.e., a size other than missy/regular) for either category were classified as "special size" and asked a series of questions about one clothing category for which they wear a special size. Note: the clothing category was selected at random if the respondent was classified as special size for more than one category.

Missy/regular size women were also included in the respondent base for comparative purposes. To be classified as "regular size," the respondent had to indicate wearing a missy/regular size across four key apparel categories (tops, bottoms, bras and panties). A clothing category was then randomly selected for the series of category specific questions.

The study was administered to a nationally balanced sample of females age 13+ via NPD's Online Panel from June 4 – June 14, 2012.

Freedom behind bars in the Philippines

OM Ships International's vessel Logos Hope continues to undergo maintenance work to ensure safe and reliable future operation in her unique mission to bring knowledge, help and hope. At the same time, lives are being transformed around the Philippines as teams from the ship serve local communities on shore.

"Once my eyes were closed, but now I can see!" exclaimed one of the 46 inmates at Olongapo District Jail who found freedom in Jesus Christ through visits by Logos Hope teams.

As the "book ship" remains in Subic Bay for vessel upgrades, local pastor Tony Paras invited crewmembers to visit women in Olongapo District Jail to help lead Sunday Bible studies. Through these weekly events, the ship's c fashion jackets rewmembers built friendships with inmates, who openly shared their struggles with them. Many inmates accepted God's unconditional love and committed their lives to follow Jesus.

Warden Emily Bueno stated, "These meetings have quickly become the most well-attended meetings in this prison. We are so blessed to have the local pastor and crewmembers coming here to share about God's love."

Two months of discipleship resulted in a baptism service where 46 inmates were baptized by Pastor Tony Paras. "The fruit of the discipleship was evident, for which we all give thanks to God," he said.

During that time crewmembers distributed Bibles in English and Tagalog, the national language, as well as Gospels of John. Seeing that some inmates suffer from poor eyesight, crewmembers also performed eye exams, testing all 88 inmates and several guards and giving out 63 pairs of glasses.

In addition to prison ministry, Logos Hope teams led week-long Bible schools in tribal groups, installed water purifiers, set up community libraries and rebuilt houses destroyed in the recent earthquake, restoring hope to local communities.

In all, over 70 teams went out in six phases to live among locals for three-weeks. While most outreach was planned in advance, crewmembers also responded to the immediate needs of people, including restoring neighborhoods devastated by flooding caused by heavy rains.

"Logos Hope was one of the first organizations to respond to our distress and call for help," said Rolando Domingo, who facilitated donations from crewmembers for Philippine flood victims. Thirteen large bags of clothes, water purifiers, food and blankets were financed through gifts from the UK and Germany and given to 200 needy families in Lower Kalaklan, Olongapo and 400 members of the Aeta indigenous people group also living in the area.

Honourable Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., of the Presidential Communications Operations Office of the Philippines, expressed appreciation for Logos Hope's humanitarian efforts on behalf of the government. "I wish to commend the volunteer crewmembers of MV Logos Hope. Indeed, you are messengers of God's Word and carriers of Hope."

While the past six months of vessel upgrades have been a marathon for those on board, God's faithfulness and provision has been clearly evident. The ship's extended time in the Philippines has become a life-changing blessing to hundreds of local people, and even life-saving for 46 women in Olongapo District Jail.

5th of 7 Tips: Be The Next American Berlin Chocolate Bomber

Discuss your plans with those most affected by what you plan to do. This might seem so American antiques locally placed in our minds as Emerson telling the magistrate he will pay the bond to free his dear friend Henry David Thoreau from jail. The Mexican War is over: we did retreat from Mexico City. That moment of Montezuma's revenge gained us Texas, won us California what more could you ask. Peace and quiet, he did communicate, and went off muttering and built his house of wattles on the pond at Walden.

Walden Pond was, you may well know, on dear Emerson's property and he did not charge Henry David any rent all those three years three months three weeks and three days Thoreau did stay there. I never heard that he did thank Emerson for his understanding ways kind heart and generous purse. He did dismantle the cottage. Shack, really, but is suited him, all ten by ten feet deep and wide. We see that the dear Pond is now so badly polluted Thoreau and Emerson would surely sit on their porch, whittling aimlessly and wondering.

What in God's name ever happened to the neighborhood. Have they gone mad? When you poison your own well, as well as that of your neighbor, you are in a bad descent to a bad place of darkness and disease. Stop!
Henry and Waldo might say calm down we understand. We did chop nature down and strip mine and mono culture so one disease kills all. But we are American, right? Hi fives. We could overcome. We may not. But we could. Easy. OK I am the world. The watch has begun. Well, it never has been off, but you know the times, microscopes up every pantleg or not moving orfice and we think we are closer to being civilized than ever, right?

Well,if we raise or lower to perhaps the parlance o fashion coats online f the voice of - with huge respect - JaackNucklhead of Hollywood, you gotta just believe in yourself, Jack. If you ain't got that, you are just - slow talking drawl here - pissn in the wind wrong way my friend and you know what that will get you, don't ya. Not sure, speak some more. you will be pissn your face, Jack. And then there is no goin back. So you get it right in the first place. Those Nazis and those Commies they had it all wrong doncha see? All front top end load.

We make the rules, we tell you when to do what we decide you think, when to lift your skirt, when to keep your head down which was most all the time unless you wanted one of those furry coated Mongols with that blazing big red star in the front of their furry cap. And when they lift their furry coat arm at you, Jack , it is not to present you with any roses if you get where this is going. I have a crazy friend who was there, he was Canadian they can do those things. He had his nose so far up Joe Stalin's backside he near had tank tracks all over him.

Jaack says his peculiar friend even tried to take a photo of Hitler's bunker while the man with the golden machine gun was talking about the great patriotic sacrifices. And you know he says he may have caused his heart, for sure his bladder, some damage. How's that, Jack? I'm Jaack. Your Jack. Well as he clicked this perfect icture he was trying to show how the Brandenberg Gate was just over to his right, so he was turning as his camera made a huge noise at the moment after the man with the machine gun paused in his talk...

And he then heard hiscamera make this loud sound CLICK

Ya know, he froze. Everything in his experience froze. The man with the gun looked at him. He had heard. Says his wife was whiter than usual these recent days. Never mind smash the camera. Siberia. Says he had been warned that no pictures unless we say. Otherwise, he had made a slashing motion across his throat which you could take as a fairly universally understood sign of up to no good if cross line and zap. So here is this bambi of a moth and here was this brilliant candle.

Needless to say after I had held my breath for what seemed an enormously long time, the man with the machine gun and tour book shook his head and walked toward the bus. I vowed to destroy that print- didn't need to, it was too shaky to see what it was- and we got back on the bus. With my youngest daughter I returned to a free Berlin and purchased a Russian Genral's hat - very small head you have, General - they informed us they could not find Hitler's bunker. I offered to help but found no interest. It could not have been more than one hundred paces to Brandenberg.

But you know how memory plays tricks with our memory. So anyway as long as you discuss with who you wish to help, that is most important. You can talk your way out of anything, Jack. Bullsh.. beats brains every every time. Look at Bush. However, in the case of the 1948 Berlin Chocolate Bomber, his insight came to him surely from God in a flash. Standing near the Templehof gates with these ecited kids after his first days coal drop, he started to be playful with them. He knew no German, so he motioned his arms as if a bomber coming in.

And some how his motions got them nodding, smiling them laughing. Flapping his arms first, he was then trickling stuff out from one hand into the sky, waving it down to the ground. And then, his eyes lighting up, shushed to show them that this should be their secret. He showed that after his first flugen - flight - pass by, he would arc his hand way out around in a great circle. Showing with the other hand another coal plane hand coming in, his other hand avoiding banging that hand held them in curious rapture. What was he saying?

By the time he got to his aircraft, they were following. In their heart he knew as he passed inside the gate. He was gone. Out of their lives perhaps forever. Except, that next day, they had excitedly chatted to every other child in Berlin that something strange and big might happened. And did it ever. That next morning that pilot wriggled the wings of his aircraft, to the consternation of the tower and fear of his men they would shake apart in this wartime rust bucket. He came in carefully and dropped his essential life saving coal. And then...

He ignored shouts from the tower, blinking lights all over the place and began a long turn to the right rather than continue straight ahead out of the paths of the oncoming armada of aircraft coming down in an arc as from heaven. It was from America. The children must must thought this was some miracle or strange unexplainable thing from America. He caem out wide and his judgement easily missed the incoming next coal plane, although later evidence claimed otherwise. He had not communicated with them.

But had he ever with half the children of Berlin, excited, smiling, cheering for the first time likely in their dear little lives. I was their age, and did not know of this, we only heard about coal and food deliveries. But to those children of frightened Berlin this was a miracle as if from heaven. How you can make this sense of deep devotion to life make you see you next steps is in your court. The one right over from the coal drop may be waiting silent still for you. Happy landing.

After you have prepared for your chocolate drops to your dear souls who are looking up to you like the chickies in the nest. Our nurtering ways will determine those attiudes for a lifetime and beyond. we don't think of how the age of those who listened to John Kennedy when he stood on that platform with the wall as his back drop and told the people iof Germany that America stood tall with them in the face of this inhumane bullying. They had all likely loved America since the day of the Chocolate Drops.

They could in their hearts reply back ya ya ich also bin ein Amerikanner, ya Jack F. K. It is all in the American antiques treasury in our hearts that Abraham Lincoln put there in us as models for living. And it for us for carry on with that fine tradition as long as we have breath to breathe and legs to get to it. Henry thought America was going mad by the 1840's. All that aggression against our neighbors. We had barely settled with Canada - who had made silly of us when they panicked us into surrendering Michigan to them for that while with their capture of Fort Detroit.

Did that American General suffer his demotion. As I had the highest mark in my American History class that winter in Los Angelese in 1956 I know that information was not in American history books. I was given the look for bringing that fact up, which was not known and not wanted to be informed of. And now Mexico. Just as well that one might imagine dear Henry David Thoreau up and out there somewhere. He must some day furiously pace around heaven all day; snorting that he had seen it all coming.

Our celestial conversation could be around the nature of talks by the pond. I will go first. You must sense Henry, we have been reading your words since that war in Vietnam. And we have thought on that. Can you bear this? They- we- are cleaning it up. Never mind, snorting about time, although that is true. But it is happening, Henry. It is happening. Not all energy and men are charging into Texas to chase Santa Anna waay past Mexico City. All is calm on our neighborhood fronts. Mostly. Yes that is much better.

Kerry Blue Terrier Puppy And Dog Information

The Kerry Blue Terrier is an affectionate, intelligent and protective family pet. She can live in an apartment, as long as she is afforded frequent long walks. She is a great watch dog and guard dog but she will not drive the neighbors crazy with her barking, as she is a quiet dog. She is good with older, considerate children. As a reminder, never leave a child unsupervised with any puppy or dog. She does not do well with other pets and other dogs. She generally will not back down in a fight as she is fearless.

The Tough Get Going: Affiliate Marketing In A Down Economy

Sure, things are tough on the economic front. Anyone trying to sugar coat the realities of the current economic downturn is fooling him or herself. In fact, things may get worse before they get better. Those are the facts, plain and simple. The solutions are not so simple, however.

What does all of this mean for affiliate marketers? It means that when the going gets tough, the, well, you know the rest. Now is the time to work and promote your affiliate business more. There are two reasons for this. First, there is more competition for those customers willing to spend some of their money. Second, you can present yourself as a viable business still operating to these customers.

Wishing for better times won't bring those better times here any sooner. You will have to work harder and smarter t women's coats his year at affiliate marketing. With that in mind, here are a few tips for business building in tough economic times:

Get Reviewing

One way to get the word out about your products is to write product reviews. You can employ product reviews on your website. Here you give details, details and more details about a specific affiliate product. These reviews go beyond basic generalities about a product. With these you give your experience with a product, how it performed in different situations.

You can also add snippets of customer testimonials in your reviews. People love to read unbiased user testimonials and how products benefited them. Parts of a case study can also be part of a product review.

Your article writing for your article marketing efforts can be product reviews. These will be non-promotional reviews, which compare a handful of similar products. You objectively present the features of yours and other products. You educate your target market and indirectly promote your product in this type of review.

Get Talking

Spread the word on the street and on the Net concerning your business. That means talking up your affiliate products and affiliate opportunity to people you meet. Without pressuring people or talking about it at inappropriate times let others know what you're doing businesswise. Someone you meet during the course of your regular day may welcome your affiliate product or affiliate income-earning opportunity. You will never know unless you present it to them.

Participate in social forums. Some affiliate programs find their best conversions come from meeting others on forum sites. Here, you interact with others who already have an interest in topics associated with your affiliate product. It's up to you to talk to them in a casual way on these topics. You then offer suggestions as to how your product or service may help them. It's network marketing done efficiently.

Get Leveled

We mean this in a good way. Consider multi-level products. You can sell a prospect on a free or low-cost basic version of your affiliate product. This is especially applicable to software products. Down the road, you can sell your customers on an upgraded version. This is the version with all the extra features and benefits.

You can obtain high levels of sales for the premier version this way. You already have a customer who took advantage of the basic version. You pre-sold them on this higher-level version. You are now asking them to upgrade and enhance their user experience. This is often a better way then trying to sell them the premium edition first.

Get Linking

If you have not yet engaged in link and banner exchanges, this can be your year to try it. Register your site with a central exchange organization. You will then receive HTML code, which you insert into your web pages. You display banners and text links from other sites. You gain credit for displaying these links. Consequently, other sites must display your text links and banners. Exchanging links to promote traffic is mutually beneficial to all who are part of the exchange.

Don't forget to engage in article writing and article marketing. It still is an efficient way to get your links out onto the World Wide Web. You build credibility as an affiliate marketer and build trust with your niche market through article marketing.

Watch Your Back

Again, we mean this in a good way. Here, you want to engage in back selling. First, market a core product or set of products. Next, begin regular communications with your clientele who purchased these products. Let them know other complementary products, accessories or services related to your core offerings. This is a great way to grow affiliate product sales. If they like your core products, they may well find your back-sell products equally useful.

Don't let tougher economic times stop you from promoting your business. Use the many tools available to you to promote your affiliate business this year. Yes, the tough get going, and they're tough to stop as they watch their sales grow.

The ancestor of all domestic cats is the African Wildcat, the genus Felis Lybica. This genus is comprised of smaller cats. Health

Cats who reside in the house should generally visit the veterinarian yearly, unless health problems are evident. Cats who enjoy the outdoors may need to see the vet as many as four times a year. The Christmas I Shot Santa

When I was a child way back in the 1950's, Christmas was a whole lot simpler than it is today. Christmas meant that I'd get a break from school and hopefully indulge in fun things such as pond hockey and tobogganing. We spent a whole lot of time playing outdoors back then, and we'd rejoice when those fluffy white flakes of snow began to fall.

Unknown to us were computers, Ipods, video games and Facebook. Fun was a play that we wrote, directed and acted out with our buddies. Nevertheless, as Christmas approached and Eaton's catalog would arrive in fashion jackets our mailbox, excitement would start to build.

We'd thumb through the pages, eagerly checking out the latest in store-bought toys. We'd be overwhelmed with the shear quantity of items. We'd narrow our choices down to two or three, grab some paper and print our letters to Santa.

The Christmas that I was eight, I knew exactly what I wanted Santa to bring. For me there would be no second or third choice. There on page 38 of the 1956 Christmas catalog was the gift of my dreams. It was a handsome BB gun that looked like the real thing.

I labored over my letter, stating my wishes to the jolly old man, and popped it into the mail box. Every day I dreamed of my BB gun and the fun I'd have. I'd be so proud. The days leading up to Christmas dragged and the anticipation mounted.

My brother and I were up early on Christmas morning. It was still dark, my parents were sleeping. We eagerly peered into the living room. We rejoiced. Santa had indeed come. There were mysterious packages under the tree. However, we had to bide our time by exploring the contents of the stockings we had hung the night before.

Mom and Dad finally aroused and Mom threw the switch on the tree. The living room was alive with colored lights and sparkling tinsel. We made short work of opening the packages from our parents and cousins. Paper flew everywhere, but where was my special request from Santa?

Finally, from out behind the sofa, Dad pulled a brightly wrapped box and handed it to me. Could this be it? My fingers trembled as I untied the ribbon. I pulled off the lid and there lay my beautiful BB gun. Quick as lightening I pulled on my coat and boots and raced into the yard. Fence posts topped with tin cans became targets.

Ping, ping was the sound my shots made when hitting the cans. I was becoming quite adept with my aim. Then all of a sudden I heard an unfamiliar whooshing sound coming from behind the targets. There, before my eyes, I saw our neighbors inflatable Santa Claus imploding into a heap. Oh no, I had shot Santa.

Thankfully our neighbor agreed that if I shoveled their sidewalk, and carried wood for the fireplace, during the holidays, he'd call it even. I was careful thereafter to set up my tin cans somewhere else.

These days, the children in my life, dream of electronics and merchandise influenced by movies and television shows. Of course they still need skates, snow racers, bicycles, and bats and balls.

They even enjoy some of the toys from my childhood such as wooden building blocks and View Master. But, as far as I know, none of them have ever asked Santa for a BB gun.

Do It Yourself Home Improvement

Home improvement is one of those terms that covers just about anything. Do it yourself home improvement is the process of renovating, remodeling or making additions to one's home without the use of a contractor. Do it yourself home improvements are often performed to raise the asking price of a house before it is sold. Home renovating can be a costly affair that necessitates some type of financing, however, do it yourself home improvement can often be achieved quite inexpensively.

Remodeling

Do it yourself home improvement can include remodeling of a room, a garden or an entire house. A remodeling project, regardless of the size, requires planning and some major decisions so if you're not up women's jackets to d-i-y structural remodeling, consider a smaller project such as building a flowerbed out of railroad ties or stacked flagstones. Another easy remodeling project could be to build a garden pond. These small improvements can make a huge visual impact and improve the overall amenity and living space in your garden.

Do It Yourself Kitchen Renovations

A thoughtfully planned, well decorated kitchen is a sound investment in your home. Obviously, kitchen remodeling can be a major renovation project, however there are many do it yourself home improvements that can be done in the kitchen. Do it yourself kitchen home improvements can encompass kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring and appliances. Upgrading cabinets, fixtures, and sinks in the kitchen can be daunting but can often be tackled by the home handyman, with a bit of expert advice. And, remember, kitchen (and bathroom) remodeling usually brings greater returns than modifying or adding leisure amenities.

Projects

Often a simple remodeling project can make an ordinary room beautiful. Do it yourself home improvement projects can be as simple as a small repair or repainting a room. Another small, or inexpensive project can be replacing the linoleum or carpet. Generally people categorize home improvement projects by the area where the improvement is located. Remember many projects require a permit from local planning authority. You may need to advise your home insurance company know about your renovations.

Flooring

Home improvements can cover adding new flooring such as carpets, tiling, linoleum, wood flooring, or solid hardwood flooring. Laminate flooring is a popular option as a do it yourself home improvement as it is durable, cost effective and easy to install. Vinyl or ceramic tile flooring can cost from $10 dollars to $40 dollars per square yard. Vinyl laminate flooring is ideal for a small budget home improvement job.

Loan

A small do it yourself home improvement plan usually does not require financing, however, larger projects often necessitate additional financing, or a home improvement loan. Refinancing refers to paying off the old loans and taking out a new mortgage on your home. The cost of obtaining unsecured loans is comparatively lower than secured loans and an unsecured loan is often advised for small home improvement projects with expenditures of less than $10,000. Secured home improvement loans are usually secured against your home.

Plans

Remember the old adage, "if you fail to plan you're planning to fail"? Well, it applies to do it yourself home improvements as much as any other area of life. So take the time to draw up plans and a timetable to achieve your goals. If you find that you need to engage a contractor for any of the remodeling work review the plans and specifications prior to signing any contract. Get formal bids from a short list of three contractors on the same plans and specifications.

Do it yourself home improvement is more than just a new coat of paint and can have long term benefits for you and your family. Home improvements are a real investment, producing both a better house in which to live and an increase in the potential resale and value of your home.

Simple Guidelines For A DIY Fence Project

Building a fence is not brain surgery, but you really should start with a plan. In this article, you will find some useful tips that will help you get your new fence built. There will be some tools suggestions, such as which are the best impact drivers and which tool is best for digging holes for fence posts. You may not set a record for speed, but when you are done, you will have something to be proud of, a fence women's jackets that will last you years.

The planning stage is extremely important in any DIY project, and fence construction is no different. There are plenty of online videos and tutorials to help you get started, but there are some very important decisions to make before you start.

Before you dig your first hole, make sure you check with your local building department and your local homeowner's association to find out what rules and codes apply to your project. Some folks subscribe to the idea that they can plead ignorance and get away with not following the rules, but it may not go well with you. There are enough stories about fences and out-buildings that have had to be de-constructed because the homeowner did not follow this simple advice.

You may also want to consider getting a set of plans for your fence. These usually come with a list of supplies and materials which will take the guesswork out of your DIY fence project. As you calculate the amount of materials, you will have a fairly good idea of how much the project will cost. You don't want to be half-way through and discover you don't have enough money to finish.

A project that is large enough sometimes can justify getting a new tool or two. The idea is not to get tools just because you want to emulate "Tim-the-Toolman Taylor" but some tools can save you enough time and energy to justify the expense.

In the case of a fence, there will be a lot of fastening of boards together. This can be done with nails or screws. In the case of nails, a nail gun would be in order. If screws are used, a new impact driver will serve you well. Since this is a fairly new type of tool, make sure you do some research to find the best impact drivers for the kind of screws you will be using. This will save you lots of physical stress and exhaustion, especially if you are not used to the type of energy and muscle use involved in this kind of construction.

If you live in an area that experiences cold winters, you will want to know how deep the winter frost goes so you can get below that. Going below the frost line will help keep your posts in the ground. Digging your holes too shallow could result in the posts being pushed up when the ground freezes. Also use a string line to keep your fence straight. Set each post along the string. (Skip this step, and you will never hear the end of it from your spouse and your neighbors when your fence looks like the Snake River.)

Another tool that is very helpful is an auger. This is especially true if you live in an area with hard soil or lots of small rocks under the surface. If you do rent a post hole digger, employ the help of a friend. Two people handling an auger is so much easier than one because these tools are so bulky and hard to move by a single individual.

Finally, put a good coat of weather proofing on your finished lumber. You want your work to look good for as long as possible. New lumber looks good at first, but it only takes a few months to start turning grey. Take care of your fence, and it will give your years of use.

Health Considerations

Cats who reside in the house should generally visit the veterinarian yearly, unless health problems are evident. Cats who enjoy the outdoors may need to see the vet as many as four times a year. When you take your cat to the vet, be sure to bring along a fresh stool sample so the vet can do a fecal exam to check for internal parasites such as tapeworm, round worm, whip worms and hook worms. The vet will also check for external parasites such as fleas, ticks and ear mites.

Any vet check should include a dental examination and a cleaning if necessary. Cats who are eight years of age or older are considered geriatric and additional blood and urine tests may be necessary to screen for any health problems. At about six months of age, the kitten should also be examined for sexual maturity and decisions about birth control should be made.
